Bill O’Boyle founded North State Consulting to empower businesses to reach their potential following his straightforward methodology. Bill has an extensive background developing business models and negotiating at the Executive level with global companies such as Sony, Fujitsu, Canon, and Citrix, midsized companies such as Worldox, Smarsh, Applied Systems, Lexis Nexis, and many startups.
A recognized speaker and thought leader in the legal technology industry, Bill recently worked with Campbell Law School to develop the Law Firm of the Future and was asked by the NC Bar Association and the American Bar Association to be a panelist judge alongside the Honorable Barbara Jackson of the North Carolina Supreme Court for Hacksess to Justice.

Jake started with North State in August 2017 as a BDR and quickly built a resume of success leading him into his current role as our VP of Sales. He specializes in cold call execution, script building, and creating effective outbound strategies. He is motivated and driven by seeing our clients win and our team succeed. Jake has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University, enjoys spending time with his family and rooting on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Sharon is likely the first person you’ll meet at North State Consulting! Beginning her journey in August of 2019, Sharon stepped into her role as Director of Human Resources and took on the responsibilities of benefits administration, company policies, and general human resources management. If a team member wants to insure their success, it’s fair to say that Sharon will be involved in some way, shape, or form. When she isn’t supporting the North State team, she is supporting her loved ones; especially her two children.
Jayme is a Wilson native and is passionate about giving back to the community. She is our Recruiter and is continually searching for candidates, such as college grads or those seeking a career change, to bring to North State Consulting. Her goal is to keep our company culture inclusive, innovative, rewarding and FUN! When she steps away from work she enjoys running, reading, fostering animals and traveling with her family and friends.
My name is Jake Cockerham. I have been in sales for about 4 years. North State Consulting is by far one of the best work environments I have been a part of in my sales career. They really care about us and want us to grow and succeed. I love the challenge that working in sales provides every day. North State is constantly pushing me to step out of comfort zone in order to grow. When you work at a place that cares that much about your success it makes coming into work easy.
Rich started with North State in August 2019 as a BDR. He quickly rose through the ranks to SBDR, then to Team Lead, and finally to Manager within 2 years. Along the way, he was able to send over 300+ quality leads that were performed for various clients. He always puts the client first, which is one of our Core Values here at NSC. Rich enjoys working with others to help them grow in their sales career. His favorite hobbies are hanging out with Elizabeth (fiancé) and his family/friends, while trying to slide in a round of golf from time-to-time.
McKenzie started with North State in June 2019 as a BDR and continued to grow within the company to her current role as a Sales Manager. She is very hands on with her teams and is always there to help and grow with her reps. On her off time she spends time with her daughter and family.
Valerie, a North Carolina native started NSC in September 2019 as a Business Development Representative. In December 2019 she earned two NorthState Nortie Awards for Office Mom and Java Junkie! She has since been promoted to Team Lead, through all of her hard work and willingness to help. In her spare time she enjoys couponing and spending time with her granddaughters, Trinity and Kassidy.
Rebecca enjoys traveling with her husband and three year old daughter. She loves the beach and shopping. She has lived in NC all her life. She supports all her peers to the fullest extent. She is their biggest cheerleader.
Justin has lived in North Carolina for most of his life. He has been in sales for going on 20 years and has worked with different areas of software sales for the past 10. He loves to travel and explore the beautiful world around him. When he’s not focused on providing for our clients he can be found playing golf, playing the drums, or reading a good book.
Matthew is an Account Executive for North State Consulting, and chose a career in sales because he loves talking to people and finding creative ways to help people. Matthew has an extensive background in SaaS sales, with experience in Financial Services, Healthcare, and now in Legal. Matthew has a degree in Economics from NCSU, and leverages his mathematical mind and his verbal communication skills to engage with prospects and come up with creative solutions to help our clients win new business. He loves a challenge! In his time at North State, he’s ascended from a Business Development role to a Team Lead, and ultimately to an Account Executive position, all with the help of his teammates and upper management to grow and evolve. In his free time, Matthew enjoys exercising, playing sports and volunteering with local nonprofits and hospitals, with a specific focus on addiction and homelessness.
William started with Noth State in early 2018 as BDR helping stand up a variety of accounts. His success as a BDR on multiple accounts and multiple verticals has made him invaluable to the North State Team. His work ethic, understanding of client needs and ability to communicate value on different levels has also made him one of North State’s top Sales Team Leads. When William is not working relentlessly for his clients, you can find him on a local golf course or reading a good book on one of North Carolina’s beautiful beaches.
