Bill O’Boyle founded North State Consulting as a way to empower businesses to reach their potential following his straightforward methodology. Bill has an extensive background developing business models and negotiating at the Executive level with global companies such as Sony, Fujitsu, Canon, and Citrix, midsized companies such as Worldox, Smarsh, Applied Systems, Lexis Nexis, and exciting startups like Cicayda, Jostle, and mxHero to name a few. Bill was also a three-time invitee of the AICPA’s Executive Roundtable.
Bill is a recognized speaker and thought leader in the legal technology industry. He has been an advisory board member for LegalTech NY and the ABA Techshow and helped software companies build relationships with over 20 State Bar Associations.
Recently Bill worked with Campbell Law School to develop the Law Firm of the Future and was asked by the NC Bar Association and the American Bar Association to be a panelist judge alongside the Honorable Barbara Jackson of the North Carolina Supreme Court for Hacksess to Justice
Bill is active in the community as an Advisor to the School of Business and Technology at St. Augustine’s University as well as a member of the United Way of the Greater Triangle’s Community Engagement Committee. Bill is also a proud graduate of Leadership North Carolina and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Leaders Program.
Although born in NC, Wes spent his childhood in NJ and NY before moving back to NC. After attending East Carolina University Wes moved to CO where he spent 20 years honing his skills as a competitive snowboarder and subsequent businessman. Returning to NC in 2012, Wes ran the lead generation division of Citrix and honed his skills as a corporate leader eventually scaling his team to over 155 people in two locations. Joining North State Consulting in 2020, Wes immediately set out to help build a team of trained sales assassins with a focus on continual improvement, training and a healthy dose of fun. When he’s not helping to build the best sales team in the world, Wes enjoys his time with his family, eating great food and playing outdoors.
Jake started with North State in August 2017 as a BDR and quickly built a resume of success leading him into his current role as our VP of Sales. He is motivated and driven by seeing our clients win and our team succeed. If it involves outbound sales – Jake is all over it.
Matt started with North State Consulting in August of 2017. He has been involved with sales in one way or another for over ten years. In his spare time, Matt is an avid boardgamer and an amateur astronomer.
Sharon is likely the first person you’ll meet at North State Consulting! Beginning her journey in August of 2019, Sharon stepped into her role as Director of Human Resources and took on the responsibilities of benefits administration, company policies, and general human resources management. If a team member wants to insure their success, it’s fair to say that Sharon will be involved in some way, shape, or form. When she isn’t supporting the North State team, she is supporting her loved ones; especially her two children.
McKenzie started with North State in June 2019 as a BDR and continued to grow within the company to her current role as a Sales Manager. She is very hands on with her teams and is always there to help and grow with her reps. On her off time she spends time with her daughter and family.
Rollins started with the company in early February 2019, through hard and diligent work he has risen through the ranks to his current role as Sales Enablement Manager. He has modeled his entire career with North State Consulting on his favorite quote, “It Will Be Done.” No matter what size project he has received, Rollins always takes to it with the same enthusiasm and results driven attitude that has lifted him to his current position. In his off time he likes to hike, canoe, and cook for all of his friends and family.
Rich started with North State in August 2019 as a BDR. He quickly rose through the ranks to SBDR, then to Team Lead, and finally to Manager within 2 years. Along the way, he was able to send over 300+ quality leads that were performed for various clients. He always puts the client first, which is one of our Core Values here at NSC. Rich enjoys working with others to help them grow in their sales career. His favorite hobbies are hanging out with Elizabeth (fiancé) and his family/friends, while trying to slide in a round of golf from time-to-time.
Jake Umstead was hired onto the team in September 2020 as a Business Development Representative. Jake’s hard work and attention to detail was quickly recognized and he was promptly promoted to Sales Operations Manager. With this promotion, came more responsibilities dealing more with the Data and Analytics of North State. When he is not at the office, Jake enjoys playing music, painting, and spending time with his loved ones.
Wilson born and raised, Hunter Bailey graduated from ECU in 2016. Drawing upon his studies in Interpersonal Communication, Hunter has found success in taking care of many different clients that North State Consulting has had the privilege to represent since joining the team in April of 2019. In his spare time he enjoys performing live music as a DJ and working with both a regional promotion company as well as an international record label.
William started with Noth State in early 2018 as BDR helping stand up a variety of accounts. His success as a BDR on multiple accounts and multiple verticals has made him invaluable to the North State Team. His work ethic, understanding of client needs and ability to communicate value on different levels has also made him one of North State’s top Sales Team Leads. When William is not working relentlessly for his clients, you can find him on a local golf course or reading a good book on one of North Carolina’s beautiful beaches.
Matthew is an Account Executive for North State Consulting, and chose a career in sales because he loves talking to people and finding creative ways to help people. Matthew has an extensive background in SaaS sales, with experience in Financial Services, Healthcare, and now in Legal. Matthew has a degree in Economics from NCSU, and leverages his mathematical mind and his verbal communication skills to engage with prospects and come up with creative solutions to help our clients win new business. He loves a challenge! In his time at North State, he’s ascended from a Business Development role to a Team Lead, and ultimately to an Account Executive position, all with the help of his teammates and upper management to grow and evolve. In his free time, Matthew enjoys exercising, playing sports and volunteering with local nonprofits and hospitals, with a specific focus on addiction and homelessness.
Louis started as a BDR at North State Consulting November of 2020 through the tumult of COVID-19 and quickly proved himself to be resilient, reliable and above all hardworking. He rose to the occasion as a contributing member of the team and became a resource for others, and as a result, is now team lead. He enjoys running, golfing, and taking care of his clients.
